EDTA
1. EDTA has a wide range of applications and can be used as a bleaching and fixing solution for color photosensitive materials, a dyeing aid, a fiber processing aid, a cosmetic additive, a blood anticoagulant, a detergent, a stabilizer, and a synthetic rubber polymerization initiator. EDTA is a representative substance of chelating agents. Can form stable water-soluble complexes with alkali metals, rare earth elements, transition metals, etc. In addition to sodium salts, there are also ammonium salts and various salts such as iron, magnesium, calcium, copper, manganese, zinc, cobalt, aluminum, etc. These salts have different uses. In addition, EDTA can also be used to rapidly excrete harmful radioactive metals from the human body for detoxification. It is also a water treatment agent. EDTA is still an important indicator, but when used to titrate metals such as nickel and copper, it must be used together with ammonia water to function as an indicator.
2. EDTA is an excellent chelating agent for calcium and magnesium ions. It is used as a chelating agent for water used in lotion polymerization to remove Ca2+, Mg2+, Fe2+, Fe3+and other metal ions. It is also used as a chelating agent for anaerobic adhesives, by treating methyl methacrylate diesters with EDTA to remove transition metal ions and eliminate the effects that promote peroxide decomposition, which has a very good effect on improving the stability of anaerobic adhesives. EDTA sodium salt chelates metal ions to improve the speed of modified acrylic acid. Storage stability of structural adhesive (SGA), dosage -3 × 10-4 to 6.0 × 10-4. The dosage is 1.5%, and the storage stability at 50~C is over 360 hours (4 days at 50 ℃, equivalent to 1 year of SGA20~C storage). 3. Commonly used for softening boiler water quality. Prevent scaling.
